All Barlows gate posts are produced from selected redwoods which have been dried before pressure treatment. This enables the maximum penetration of the preservative, and hence a longer life for your post. Round-topped posts are cut to order. Special sizes are available to order.

All of Barlows' fence-posts are sawn using selected redwoods ideal for ground contact. The posts are then air-dried prior to treatment to enable maximum penetration of the chemicals into the timber.

The above-left image shows the penetration achieved on whitewood posts, which have not been air-dried. The above-right image shows an air -dried pine post. Please note air-dried posts will have some surface checking, which is normal.
