- Fix the hinges to the gate (19mm drill bit for the adjustable

Fixing your gate between two timber posts

- Set posts 600mm in the ground and set in place with concrete.
(check the gap is correct before concreting then leave to set for
24 hrs)
- Fix the hinges to the gate.
- Offer the gate up to the post ensuring that there is enough
ground clearance to open and close the gate.
- Pack up the gate to this position and fix the hinges to the
post.
- Fix the gate catch to the gate and fix the latch to the
post.
- Fix the shutting strip to the post so that the gate strikes the
shutting strip as the catch locates. (This prevents the catch from
breaking if the gate slams shut in the wind.)

- Fix the timber wall fillet to your brickwork using suitable
wall bolts.

enough ground clearance to open and close the gate.
- Pack the gate up in position and fix the hinges to the wall
fillet.
- Dig the hole for the closing post ensuring that the post is at
least 600mm in the ground. But, most importantly, that it is level
with the wall fillet.
- Position the gate in a closed position and move the post so
that it is level with the wall fillet and that there is no more
than a 10mm gap between the gate and closing post.
- Concrete the post in position and leave for 24 hrs.
- Fix the catch to the gate and the shutting strip to the post as
per instructions above.
